Captains Coffee 2024 Recap

Wow, what a fun event! We are so grateful to our featured captains (Rachel Eng, Karen Greenwood, Jen Stiebeling, Cynthia van der Pol) and to our visiting captains for sharing their experience, tips and stories with us. The best part: making new friends and connections from all around the Denver metro area!

Legendary Doubles Duos

There have been many legendary tennis doubles partnerships throughout the history of the sport. Here are some of the greatest doubles teams like:

Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver

 John McEnroe and Peter Fleming, above

Bob and Mike Bryan

The Bryan brothers from the United States are considered one of the greatest doubles teams of all time. They have won numerous Grand Slam titles together, including multiple Wimbledon and US Open championships.

Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver

This formidable women's doubles team dominated the tennis scene in the 1980s. They won 20 Grand Slam doubles titles together, including several Wimbledon and US Open championships.

Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde

This Australian pair was highly successful in the 1990s. Known as the "Woodies," they won 11 Grand Slam doubles titles together, including multiple victories at Wimbledon and the Australian Open.

John McEnroe and Peter Fleming

This American duo was a dominant force in the late 1970s and early 1980s. McEnroe and Fleming won seven Grand Slam doubles titles together, including four consecutive Wimbledon titles from 1979 to 1982.

Sergi Bruguera and Jim Courier

While both players achieved success in singles, they also formed a formidable doubles team. The Spanish-American pair won two French Open doubles titles in the early 1990s.

Martina Hingis and Leander Paes

Hingis and Paes teamed up in mixed doubles with great success. They won three Grand Slam mixed doubles titles together, including the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.

This Canadian-Serbian partnership was highly successful in the 2000s. They won multiple Grand Slam titles together, including victories at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
